Setting up Email for the Android SmartPhones Print

Newer Versions of Android SmartPhones

In the directions below, wherever it says "yourdomain.com" substitute with your actual domain name.

  1. Tap "Settings" app
  2. Tap "Accounts"
  3. Tap "+ Add Account"
  4. Tap "Email"
  5. Enter Name, address (full email [email protected]), and password.
    (Your phone will attempt to guess your settings. Allow ~1 minute for it to fail.)
  6. Select IMAP.
    (It's the default. The option you've selected will be highlighted.)
  7. Under "Incoming mail server"
    1. Set "USERNAME" to [email protected]
    2. Set "PASSWORD" to your password
    3. Set "SERVER" to yourdomain.com 
      (or your server host name or server's IP address)
    4. Set "PORT" to 143 
      (or 110 in case POP3 was selcted in earlier step)
    5. Set "SECURITY TYPE" to None
    6. Click "Next"
  8. Under "Outgoing mail server"
    1. Set "USERNAME" to [email protected]
    2. Set "PASSWORD" to your password
    3. Set "SERVER" to yourdomain.com 
      (or your server host name or server's IP address)
    4. Set "PORT" to 587 
      (or 25 in case port 587 does not work for you.)
    5. Set "SECURITY TYPE" to None
    6. Click "Require sigin-in" to enable
    7. Click "Next" & Then "Finish"

You are now ready to send and receive emails via your Android SmartPhone.

If yourdomain.com is not working for the incoming and outgoing server, you can try your IP address or server's host name. You can find your server name and IP in your welcome email or by contacting support.

Your server host name would look something like .welcomeservers.com or something similar. Check your welcome email for the exact host name or contact support to find out what it is.
